Hong Kong is set to get a dose of springtime stickiness this weekend as humidity levels are expected to hit 100%. The city’s local weather forecaster says that a humid maritime airstream will bring damp and warm days to the SAR, resulting in temperature highs of 25 degrees Celsius over the weekend. Hongkongers will experience fog, light rain and occasional sunshine during this time.

The weather forecast for Hong Kong from February 25-March-5, 2025.

Humidity levels will start picking up towards the end of the week before peaking at 100% on Sunday. Temperatures will also gradually rise during this time and settle in the mid-20s range on Sunday and Monday.  In the run-up to the weekend, it will be overcast before the clouds give way to sunny intervals. Once moisture levels begin to soar, there will be coastal fog in the day and night and it will be warm. The mercury will fall in the middle of the week, thanks to the northeast monsoon, which will bring lower humidity levels and intermittent rain to the territory.

The Hong Kong Observatory says the city usually experiences fog — when visibility is reduced to less than 1 km by water droplets suspended in the air — between February and April. Last year, the SAR was hit by a wave of humidity in early March, with images of slippery floors and damp ceilings emerging on social media.
