When XX opened its doors at Rosewood Hong Kong in 2019, it was the first ladies-only bar in the city, and required guests to get hold of a secret password in order to enter. The speakeasy had to close soon after its launch because of the pandemic, but it reopened in 2021 as the members-only Maison Le Cercle, in collaboration with Pernod Ricard. However, XX is set to return to the city’s nightlife landscape this month when it reopens to walk-in customers.
The bar, located on the fifth floor of the award-winning Rosewood in Tsim Sha Tsui, will be open to all patrons and have no restrictions, such as passwords or memberships. It will retain its intimate setting, complete with velvet couches and antique mirrored tables, and have sweeping views of the city’s skyline.
Bar manager David Monroy and his team have curated the drinks menu, which includes a wide array of wines, whiskies and seasonal cocktails, priced at HK$170 onwards per drink. XX will be open from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5pm till midnight, and will close at 1am on weekends.
