McDonald’s Hong Kong is adding a chocolate twist to one of its most recognisable breakfast items with the launch of Choco McGriddles, a Hong Kong-developed, world-first version of the McGriddles.

For those unfamiliar with it, McGriddles is McDonald’s breakfast sandwich range that swaps the usual burger bun for soft pancake-style buns. The original version is known for combining sweet and savoury flavours in one breakfast item, usually pairing pancakes with ingredients such as sausage, egg and cheese.

This new Choco McGriddles line-up brings that idea further with chocolate-flavoured pancake buns. The launch features two items: the Sausage N’ Egg Choco McGriddles and the McGriddles Deluxe Breakfast.

The new items will be available in Hong Kong from July 1 at 12AM. To mark the launch, McDonald’s Hong Kong will serve them all day from July 1 to 3, giving customers three days to try the Choco McGriddles outside the usual breakfast window.

From July 4 onwards, the McGriddles Series will return to breakfast hours. It will be available before 11am, or from 4am at 24-hour McDonald’s restaurants. The items are available while stocks last and only at designated McDonald’s Hong Kong locations.

McDonald’s Hong Kong has not stated a final end date for the promotion.
