For the first time, Ngong Ping 360 will run Cable Car Night Rides, giving guests a rare chance to see Lantau from above after dark.
The special service will operate on eight selected nights: July 24, July 25, August 1, August 2, August 8, August 9, August 15 and August 16, 2026. Rides will run from 6pm to 10pm, with boarding at Tung Chung Terminal from 6pm to 9:30pm and last boarding at Ngong Ping Terminal at 9:30pm.
Along the way, guests can take in the airport lights, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the illuminated Big Buddha.
24 Hong Kong Brands Light Up The Cable Cars
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Ngong Ping 360 is teaming up with 24 well-known Hong Kong brands, each bringing its own neon-light-themed cable car design and in-cabin luminous effects. The line-up includes MTR, Cathay, Octopus, Star Ferry, Lee Kum Kee, Hang Seng Bank, Klook, Starbucks, TamJai, WestK and more. The result should feel like a moving tribute to the city, mixing skyline views with a playful dose of old Hong Kong nostalgia. Guests with night ride tickets will also receive a mini UV flashlight to reveal surprise glowing patterns hidden inside the cabins.
The Night Ride Continues With Live Music Under The Stars
The anniversary celebrations continue at Ngong Ping Village with “903 Starry Breezy Live”, held on the same nights as the Cable Car Night Ride. Presented with Commercial Radio Hong Kong, the outdoor show will feature popular Hong Kong singers performing beneath the stars, adding a local music moment to the evening experience. Concert tickets are required and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The retro mood also fits a wider Hong Kong trend, from Wellcome’s old-school stores to cha chaan teng-inspired fashion drops and collectible collaborations by local and international brands.
