Central has a new flower shop, but not the kind you walk past without stopping. Australian artist CJ Hendry has opened a permanent 2-storey plush flower flagship at 15 Aberdeen Street, following the buzz around her Hong Kong pop-ups earlier this year.
The store opened on August 1, offering soft, colourful blooms designed to last well beyond a usual bouquet.
CJ Hendry’s Permanent Flower Shop In Central
CJ Hendry is known for turning simple objects into playful, highly detailed art moments, and her flower project has become one of her most accessible creations.
Instead of fresh flowers, visitors pick plush stems in changing colours and styles, building bouquets that feel part art piece, part keepsake.
The Central flagship is her first permanent location in Asia and only her second worldwide after New York’s SoHo.
Flowers are priced at HK$75 per stem, with every 10th stem free. Hendry says the shop will launch daily releases, including limited editions and many more native varieties soon.
From Art Month To Pacific Place
Hong Kong already had a taste of the craze earlier this year. During Art Month in March, Hendry brought a huge immersive greenhouse installation to the city, drawing long queues from fans hoping to grab her colourful plush stems.
In July, she followed it with the juju world pop-up at Pacific Place, keeping the fluffy characters firmly on the city’s radar.
Now, instead of chasing a temporary drop, fans can head to Central for daily-changing blooms, surprise editions and a more regular dose of Hendry’s bright, tactile world.
