Cathay Pacific will begin its ticket giveaway for travellers from South Africa on June 6. The airline will distribute 450 economy round-trip tickets to passengers from Johannesburg in a lucky draw as part of the Hello Hong Kong campaign to encourage tourists to visit the city. Participants can register for the lucky draw from June 6-12.
How to get the tickets?
To be eligible for the tickets, passengers aged at least 18 years old should first sign up as Cathay Pacific Asia Miles members before June 6. Participants must then visit the airline’s campaign page for South Africa at 12pm SAST on June 6, which is when registrations for the lucky draw will open. They should fill out the form and submit it, and ensure that their Cathay membership profile name matches the name on their passports.
The lucky draw will be held on June 27, and the winners will be notified on the same day via email. Once the redemption period for the tickets begins, the winners will receive a redemption code email that they should use to book their tickets.
Successful participants do not have to pay the airfare on their tickets, but they must bear the costs of any applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges.
How long are the tickets valid for?
Winners must use their redemption codes within one month of receiving them to book trips within the following nine months. Tickets can be used for travel periods between two days and one month long.
Several giveaway campaigns for free or discounted tickets for travellers to Hong Kong from different countries began from March 1, courtesy the Hello Hong Kong and World of Winners initiatives. Tickets to travellers from Southeast Asia, Mainland China, the UK, Europe, South Korea, the US and Canada, as well as Dubai, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal have been awarded. Cathay also recently kicked off its giveaway campaign for visitors from Australia and New Zealand to the SAR.
To participate, visit Cathay’s South Africa campaign page on June 6 at 12pm SAST.
