One of Hong Kong’s most high-profile sporting events — the Hong Kong Sevens — will be held from March 28-30, 2025. The three-day extravaganza is back as part of the HSBC SVSNS circuit, which will include Dubai, Perth, Cape Town, and Vancouver. Ticket details for the Hong Kong event will be announced in September, and passes will go on sale in early November.

However, the Hong Kong Sevens organisers have not yet confirmed the venue for next year’s event. “It is our wish to stage the 2025 Sevens at Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP), and we are working very closely with the KTSP team to make that happen. Once we are able to provide more details we will do so,” said Hong Kong China Rugby CEO James Farndon.

Last year’s Hong Kong Sevens was supposed to be the final year that the event would be held at Hong Kong Stadium, after which it would move to Kai Tak Sports Park for the 2025 edition. However, the venue at Kai Tak — which will be the largest of its kind in Hong Kong — will only be completed at the end of 2024, and ready for a 2025 opening.

The SVNS will include the best 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams from New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, France, USA, Canada, Fiji, Ireland, South Africa, Great Britain, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Uruguay, China, and Kenya. While the international tournament will kick off in Dubai on November 30, 2024, details about the Grand Final have not yet been confirmed.
