This year’s edition of the Hong Kong Cyclothon will be held on October 13, 2024, and have three races — spanning 50km and 32km, as well as a family 1km ride. There will be extensions to the 50km and 32km races to include one tunnel and one bridge. And, for the first time, there will be a Cyclothon carnival held at West Kowloon Cultural District. Registrations open at 10am on August 16 and close at 11:59pm on August 23.

The 50km ride will start at Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and finish at the Jordan Road Flyover, taking participants over the Tsing Ma, Ting Kau and Stonecutters bridges, as well as through the Cheung Tsing, Nam Wan, and Eagle’s Nest tunnels. This year, the Sha Tin Heights Tunnel has been added to the route. The 32km ride will have the same start and finish points as its 50km counterpart, and cyclists will pedal past the International Commerce Centre and over Stonecutters Bridge, as well as over Ting Kau Bridge for the first time.

This year’s 50km Hong Kong Cyclothon route will include Sha Tin Heights Tunnel for the first time.

The Family Fun Ride will take place on a 1km stretch of Salisbury Road, during which 300 participants — including children aged 6 years old and above — can ride on a busy Hong Kong street usually closed to cyclists. The City Cycling Challenge around Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) will also be staged in Tsim Sha Tsui, with men and women cyclists doing 3.7km laps along the Salisbury Road and Hung Hom Bypass.

For the first time, the Hong Kong Cyclothon will include a carnival at West Kowloon Cultural District Wonderland with photo spots, a cycling-themed market, yoga, stretching and dancefit workshops, and refreshments. The cycling events at Tsim Sha Tsui will also be broadcast live to visitors at the carnival.
