Walt Disney Imagineering announced on 24 November 2025 that a new robotic version of Olaf has been revealed at Disneyland Paris.

The presentation introduced a new chapter in Disney character innovation that connects technology, storytelling, and animation. From his movements to his expressions, every detail has been shaped to reflect the Olaf seen on screen. The character will be present in Hong Kong and Paris, which will open World of Frozen on 29 March 2026.

Arendelle first opened at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023 with Frozen Ever After, Playhouse in the Woods, and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and now, visitors will be able to see Olaf move and speak with detailed expression during limited time special appearances at World of Frozen.

According to the engineers, his gestures and reactions mirror the version familiar from the films, shaped through close work with the original animators at Walt Disney Animation Studios. At Hong Kong Disneyland, Olaf is already present in animated form inside Playhouse in the Woods and Mickey and the Wondrous Book.

The arrival of the robotic iteration will add a new encounter within the park at a moment when many developments are underway. The park is marking its twentieth anniversary, Filipino icon Lea Salonga is returning for a one night concert, and new experiences such as the Pixar and Marvel zones are under development.
