Soon has opened at 27 Lok Ku Road in Sheung Wan, adding a new option for traditional Hong Kong desserts. The shop focuses on tong sui, which are sweet soups served either hot or cold. The menu mixes fruit-forward bowls with richer, old-school flavours, plus classic rice ball add-ons.
For popular picks, Soon serves Mango Pomelo Sago and Mango Pomelo Sago with rice balls. Mango Purple Rice Soup is another highlight, with a version that also comes with rice balls for extra bite.
If you prefer something lighter and silky, there is Milk Steamed Egg White served chilled, as well as Milk Steamed Egg White with mango. For a warmer finish, the Milk Steamed Caramelised Egg White comes hot.
Traditional choices include Red Bean Soup and black sesame tangyuan in ginger soup. For chewy street-style desserts, Tang Bu Shuai and glutinous rice balls coated in peanut powder are also on the list. Coconut Purple Rice Soup is available hot or cold for a less fruity option.
Soon’s opening adds another late-night-style dessert stop to Sheung Wan, with a menu built around familiar Hong Kong comfort desserts and mix-and-match textures.
