Hong Kong’s family landscape is changing, and retail is starting to follow. With smaller households, fewer children and pets increasingly treated as full family members, Jakewell is opening a new kind of store at AIRSIDE Kai Tak on May 8.
The baby brand’s new flagship will be its largest store in Hong Kong, spanning more than 5,000 sq ft. But the main talking point is the concept: this will be Jakewell’s first Baby x Pet hybrid store, combining baby products with a dedicated Pet Zone for fur babies.
It is a smart move. Parents in Hong Kong are not only shopping for strollers, car seats and nursery items anymore. Many are also looking for ways to bring pets into daily outings, weekend plans and family routines. Jakewell is clearly tapping into that shift.
The AIRSIDE store will include Hong Kong’s only Test Drive Track for both baby and pet strollers, letting shoppers try products on surfaces such as cobblestones and grass before buying. The shop will also carry more than 30 international brands, including Stokke, Doona, Joolz, Bugaboo and UPPAbaby.
Opening offers include check-in gifts such as a travel organiser bag or a pet toy ball. The store will be located at Shop 503, AIRSIDE, Kai Tak, and open daily from 11am to 8pm.
