Hong Kong is set for a major fitness moment next year, as the 2027 PUMA HYROX World Championships will take place from June 10 to 13 at AsiaWorld-Expo.
It will be the first time the competition’s global finale is held in Asia, bringing top HYROX athletes, travelling supporters and fitness fans to the city.
The announcement also reflects how quickly Hong Kong has become one of the sport’s most important stops in the region.
How HYROX Grew Into A Major Event In Hong Kong
HYROX first came to Hong Kong in 2022, when the city hosted the format’s first Asia-Pacific event. What started as a relatively new fitness racing concept has since grown into a major competition with strong local and international appeal.
The 2026 edition even brought around 19,500 participants, making it one of Hong Kong’s standout fitness events of the year. That success helped show that the city is no longer just testing the HYROX format, but has become a real stronghold for the sport in Asia.

With that momentum behind it, the 2027 World Championships feel like a natural next step for Hong Kong.
How To Qualify For The HYROX World Championships
The HYROX World Championships are not open to regular public registration.
To reach the World Championships, competitors first need to earn their place through official HYROX races during the season.
Qualification is usually based on performance in a recognised HYROX event, with athletes needing to finish among the top competitors in their age group and division.

The exact number of qualifying spots can vary depending on the race, category and division, so participants aiming for Hong Kong 2027 will need to check the qualification rules for each event they enter.
Once an athlete qualifies, they do not automatically appear on the start list. They are sent an invitation to register for the World Championships and must confirm their place within a limited time window, usually 72 hours.
For newcomers, the path is therefore clear but competitive: join regular HYROX races first, build experience, aim for a top result, and only then secure a World Championships spot.
Readers can visit the official HYROX website for the latest details on qualification rules, race categories and registration updates.
