All passengers on the Star Ferry will get free rides across Victoria Harbour on May 30, as part of Prudential’s 175th anniversary celebrations. Anyone who takes the Star Ferry on this day can travel for free all day on inner harbour ferry crossings running between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central.
The iconic Hong Kong ferry operator increased its fares in April, and adult tickets on the upper deck for the Central-Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai-Tsim Sha Tsui routes are now HK$5 on weekdays and HK$6.5 on weekends and public holidays.
In addition, senior citizens no longer get free trips and must pay a concessionary rate of HK$2. Fares for children aged between 3 and 12 years old also went up to HK$2.9 on the upper deck for the same seats and routes on weekdays, and HK$3.9 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
