The 47th edition of the Hong Kong International Film Festival will take place from March 30 to April 10. The event will return to its usual springtime dates after being postponed in 2022, and will feature international filmmakers for the first time since 2019.

This year, there will be in-person theatrical screenings and events and a bespoke online programme. The full line-up will be announced in early March.

The filmmaker in focus for the 2023 edition of the festival will be Soi Cheang, who is known for edgy and stylish films such as Horror Hotline… Big Head Monster, New Blood, Love Battlefield, and Home Sweet Home. As part of the event, there will be screenings of 12 of Soi Cheang’s works and a face-to-face session with the filmmaker.
