The MTR will hold a lucky draw to give away 71,000 free single-ride passes and 26 annual passes on July 1 to mark HKSAR Establishment Day. All passengers who take MTR buses and the light rail will also get fare-free rides on July 1.

In addition, the July 1 lucky draw will include rewards worth more than HK2.5 million for registered MTR Mobile app users, as part of the Happy Hong Kong campaign to give residents of the SAR and visitors to the city all-new recreational experiences.

Earlier this week, Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee announced that all rides on Hong Kong trams and the Star Ferry will be free on July 1 to mark this year’s HKSAR Establishment Day celebrations. Certain trips on the Hong Kong Water Taxi will also be free of charge on this day, as well as entry to specific museums and access to guided tours for programmes under the revitalisation scheme of the city’s historic sites.

The public will also have free use of government-run leisure and recreational facilities on July 1. They can access badminton courts, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, swimming pools and other venues managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department on this day.

MTR is also running a series of lucky draws to give users of its mobile app the chance to win 5,000 prizes every day until July 12 in another endeavour to support to Happy Hong Kong initiative.
