Manteigaria will officially open its first Hong Kong flagship in Central on June 2, bringing its Portuguese custard tarts to one of Hong Kong’s busiest districts. The Lisbon-born bakery will begin its soft opening on May 26 at 3PM, before marking its grand opening on June 2, with 300 free freshly baked Pastéis de Nata for the public to celebrate the occasion.
In a city where egg tarts are one of Hong Kong’s most iconic snacks, Manteigaria’s arrival will bring a Portuguese take on a familiar local favourite. Founded in Lisbon in 2014, the bakery has built its reputation around Pastéis de Nata with crisp golden pastry layers and creamy custard centres.

The Hong Kong flagship will follow the same transparent baking approach used in its global stores. Visitors will be able to watch each tart being made throughout the day, from the careful layering of the pastry to the moment it comes out of the oven.
Each fresh batch will also be announced with a bell, following a Lisbon tradition that signals warm Pastéis de Nata are ready to be shared. After Lisbon and Macau, Manteigaria will now bring its Portuguese craft, baking tradition and tart-making experience to Central.
The store will be located at Shop B, G/F, Man Hing Commercial Building, 79-83 Queen’s Road Central, Central, and will open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
