Global favourite Pokémon is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special Hong Kong event next January. Pokémon RUN 30 will take over Hong Kong Science Park on January 23 and 24, 2027, bringing a family-friendly run together with interactive challenges, character experiences and a free Festival Zone.
Registration opens on September 1 at 3pm, with several participation categories available online there.
Pokémon RUN 30 Hong Kong
Hong Kong is one stop on the wider Pokémon RUN 30 Asia tour. The anniversary event begins in the Philippines in October 2026, followed by multiple dates in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Hong Kong is the final destination currently announced on the regional schedule across the region overall.
The Hong Kong edition features a 2km non-timed fun run designed around a Pokémon journey. Participants begin by choosing a partner Pokémon before taking on Gym-style obstacle challenges, collecting stickers and completing a Pokémon RUN Search Sheet along the route.
Runners can also stop at themed hydration points and see their chosen partner evolve as they reach the finish.
Further to the course, a free Festival Zone will include a Pikachu Parade, meet-and-greet sessions, photo spots, a pop-up store, Nintendo Switch and Pokémon TCG experience areas, plus a Pokémon Time Tunnel looking back at the franchise’s 30-year history along the way.
Registration Opens September 1
Registration for the Hong Kong event opens on September 1 at 3pm. Individual entry costs HK$600, while Team of 2 and Family Team of 2 packages cost HK$1,150.
Participants who successfully register within the first four days can also receive an early-bird Pokémon RUN 30 Pikachu shoulder plushie this year.
