Hong Kong fans counting down to The Weeknd’s concerts do not need to wait for show day to know he is here.

The singer is already in town, and his first days have mixed a classic harbourfront outing with a dinner alongside two of the most loved names in Hong Kong film. It is a gentle warm-up before 4 big nights at Kai Tak Stadium.

A Visit To Avenue Of Stars

One of his stops was Avenue of Stars, the promenade that runs along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront. The walkway is a tribute to the people behind Hong Kong’s film industry, which makes it a fitting place to visit in a week spent with two of its stars.

Since its redesign reopened it in 2019, the promenade stretches further out over the water, with a long wooden handrail that follows the harbour’s edge. More than 100 handprints of film figures are set into that rail, and one of them belongs to Tony Leung, one of his dinner hosts.

Dinner With Tony Leung And Carina Lau

His dinner was a far more private affair. The singer sat down with Carina Lau and Tony Leung at a Cartier dinner, printed on the menu as La Résidence.

The food came from Chef Marco Antonio Li Voti of Sabatini Ristorante Italiano, an Italian restaurant whose story began in Rome in 1958. He cooked 4 courses for the table:

  • Starter: a slow-cooked egg with mushrooms of the season and Alba white truffle
  • Pasta: fettuccia with abalone in a garlic and chilli sauce
  • Main: Wagyu tenderloin paired with a Scarlet Carabinero prawn
  • Dessert: a chocolate sphere with Piedmont hazelnut, finished with more Alba truffle

The Weeknd signed the menu for the chef and added a handwritten note praising the food, signing off as a friend. The chef then shared pictures of the two of them on social media, both smiling with a thumbs up.

Four Nights At Kai Tak Stadium

Now the focus turns to the stage. As announced in May 2026, Hong Kong first secured 2 dates on the final leg of the After Hours Til Dawn tour. Demand was so strong that Live Nation Hong Kong added 2 more a few weeks later, turning the visit into a 4-night stay at Kai Tak Stadium.

The first weekend opens on Saturday 24 October and continues on Sunday 25 October. After a short break, he returns for a second weekend on Friday 30 October and Saturday 31 October.

These will be his first Hong Kong concerts since 2018, when he played AsiaWorld-Expo. This time, he moves from the arena near the airport to the 50,000-seat stadium at Kai Tak Sports Park.

Once his last Hong Kong night ends on 31 October, the tour heads to Kuala Lumpur in early November. Until then, fans may want to keep an eye out around town.
