Hong Kong’s flagship carrier Cathay Pacific and its sister airline HK Express will introduce more flights and destinations to their network, bringing the combined number of passenger routes to 100 by the end of 2025. This comes after Cathay announced that it will “reach 100% of pre-pandemic flights from January 2025”.
Cathay will add Munich to its list of European destinations in June 2025, and resume its service to Brussels in August. The airline will also operate up to 93 return passenger flights a week to Europe, up from the current 78 flights per week. This includes daily flights to London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris and Zurich. There will also be four weekly flights each to Madrid and Barcelona, with the latter being a summer-only service.
The carrier also plans to launch its first flight to Dallas Fort Worth in April, which will add to its existing North American network that boasts return passenger flights to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. This is in addition to its increasing footprint in South Asia, thanks to the resumption of its services to Hyderabad in India, and more frequent flights to Colombo.
So far, HK Express has announced only one new route for 2025 — a direct flight to Sendai, which will launch on January 17. However, the budget airline added several routes to its network this year — which now includes Sanya, Clark, Penang, Phu Quoc, and Shizuoka — and resumed its Hiroshima and Hualien services.
