Cycling fans have a unique opportunity this autumn. Cricket hero Michael Vaughan and Olympic champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton are inviting cyclists to join them in a four-day ride across the scenic country of Vietnam and best of all, it raises funds for charity!
The cycle, which is scheduled for 14-19 October, will offer cyclists of all abilities an unforgettable experience. Participants will join Michael and Victoria to cycle along stunning coastal routes, across challenging mountains and through forests and paddy fields. The final day will include an unforgettable coastal ride to Nha Trang, rounding off a memorable four days of cycling.
Participants in the Laureus Cycle Challenge Vietnam will raise funds for Laureus-supported programs in the mental health space. Laureus Sport for Good currently supports more than 160 programs in over 40 countries, proving that sport can help end violence, discrimination and disadvantage. One of the organisation’s main areas of focus is using sport to enhance mental well-being among youth around the world.
Some of the money raised will be put to work right here in Hong Kong. Funds raised on the cycle will help support the work of Model City Hong Kong, a pioneering initiative Laureus has brought to the region after developing the concept in New Orleans, Atlanta and London. Model City Hong Kong is focusing on using sport as a tool to support the mental health and well-being of young people in the region.
