Hong Kong’s haunted house scene comes alive during Halloween, and this year’s no different. The Underneath — Mong Kok Haunted House Experience 2024 is bringing three haunted houses to thrill-seekers this spooky season, from October 10-31, 2024. Each zone in the 22,000 square feet basement venue is themed around ‘Forbidden Spirit Realm’ situations, such as a creepy toy store, a spooky mermaid legend, and a ghoulish fishing village.
The House of Wraith Puppet III, continues an ongoing the toy store theme in the form of a brand-new story with nine major checkpoints. Participants who enter the zone will be surrounded by defective dolls at every turn, which they must escape or risk being made the victims of the vengeful spirits inhabiting these toys. Curse of the Scales follows the story of an aquatic mermaid spirit that lives in Hong Kong’s waters who comes ashore on certain days to shed her skin and absorb moonlight essence. Uncover the mystery surrounding this legend or you may be dragged away by aquatic creatures.
Once you make your way through House of Wraith Puppet III and Curse of the Scales, you will get the code to the third house — Vengeance. Here, you will enter an immersive experience that reveals the true story of a fishing village. Unravel the mystery behind the ground littered with bodies and walls covered with desperate pleas for help. Come face to face with the Blood Pool that you must navigate while avoiding monsters to find an escape route.
Tickets are available on Klook and are priced at HK$156-HK$300, depending on how many haunted houses you want to sign up for. Children under 6 years old are not allowed to enter the venue, and those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors are not allowed to take pictures or film videos.
