Thailand has released the full list of countries and territories whose nationals can enter the country for up to 60 days without a visa, starting July 15. The list includes Hong Kong (earlier visa-exempt for 30 days), Mainland China, the US, the UK, France, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. This move is part of a series of measures the Thai government announced earlier this year, which includes a new visa for remote workers and digital nomads, called the Destination Thailand Visa. Freelancers and participants in Muay Thai courses, Thai cooking classes, sport training, medical treatments, seminars, and music festivals are also eligible for this visa, for which they need to pay THB 10,000 (approximately HK$2,200) and must have a proof of at least THB 5000,00 (approximately HK$110,000) for the duration of their stay.
In addition, nationals of 31 countries are now eligible for single-entry visas on arrival when they enter Thailand for up to 15 days, for which they need to pay THB 2,000 (approximately HK$440). Some of these countries are also eligible for the 60-day visa exemption scheme. Foreign students can also extend their stays on their Non-Immigrant ED Plus visas for one more year after they graduate.
