H&M’s Festival Walk store in Kowloon Tong will close on 22 February, with the retailer citing the expiry of its lease. The shutdown comes just one day after the brand’s Causeway Bay flagship at Fashion Walk is due to close on 21 February, ending a 10-year run at one of Hong Kong’s busiest shopping areas.
The Causeway Bay store opened in October 2015, while the Festival Walk branch opened in August 2017, making it one of the brand’s newer large-format locations in the city.
Both stores are running promotions ahead of their final trading days. Festival Walk is advertising up to 90% off as part of a clearance sale, while the Causeway Bay shop is offering 50% off when customers buy three items, alongside other deals on selected products. As with most closing sales, stock and sizes may be limited, and discounts can vary by item and department.
After 22 February, Tsuen Wan Plaza will remain H&M’s only outlet in Hong Kong. The company has said it is actively looking for suitable new locations in the city while continuing to serve shoppers online, suggesting it is repositioning rather than exiting the market entirely.
