M+ will offer free admission on Sunday, March 8, as part of Art March Hong Kong. The museum is inviting visitors to drop in and explore its major exhibitions and selected public programmes without pre-registration.

Free entry will cover most of the museum’s key gallery spaces, including exhibitions on Level 2, as well as The Studio and Found Space. Visitors can also access the Mediatheque, which is free year-round, and enjoy screening programmes running at the Mediatheque and the Grand Stair.

The only major exception is the special exhibition Zao Wou-Ki: Master Printmaker in the Main Hall Gallery, which remains ticketed. M+ has also said it may manage visitor numbers on site. Queues may form, and entry could be paused if the building becomes too busy.

The free day also sits within a wider calendar of art fairs and festivals across Hong Kong in March. Art Central is scheduled for March 25–29, while Art Basel Hong Kong will run March 27–29. Street art festival HKWALLS is also set for March 21–29. Another new addition this year is the Central Yards Edible Art Fair, due to run March 26 to April 5.

Ahead of the free-admission day, M+ is also hosting M+ at Night: Endless Realms on March 6. The evening programme brings together live sets from local artists Gordon Flanders, Boonfaysau and Mr. Ho, with Vivek Mahbubani adding stand-up and a quiz-style game element. The event also gives attendees a chance to explore selected galleries after hours, including the Zao Wou-Ki special exhibition and the M+ Sigg Collection.
