Glow Spa and Salon is a warm and friendly retreat in the heart of Central, offering anti-ageing and weight-loss solutions, together with hair and beauty treatment services.
Owned and managed by Ceri Silk, her team of internationally trained therapists and stylists provide a professional service with excellent results. I was lucky enough to visit Glow recently and experience their treatments first hand.
On arrival I was warmly welcomed by a team of professionals, and after filling out a quick health and beauty questionnaire, was then whisked away into a small, yet comfortable room and in the good hands of one of the most experienced spa therapists working in Hong Kong.
Glow Spa specialises in anti ageing treatments, and my first visit enabled me to try their Transformational Vitamin C prescriptive facial, which utilises Skeyndor Power C+, an anti-ageing product nominated at the Asia Spa awards in 2013. The therapist performed a skin analysis and really listened to my concerns regarding my skin.
The combination of the therapist’s skill, knowledge and scent of the Skeyndor Power C + made me feel truly pampered! The added extra Presor Therapy which was placed on my legs and feet throughout the facial treatment used for lymphatic drainage gave me a real sense of a top to toe treatment leaving me recharged and my skin glowing.
If you are looking for reasonably priced treatments with the most experienced therapists in town, Glow Spa specialises in every day facials, as well as more transformational treatments which focus on pigmentation, scaring, fine lines and wrinkles delivering good results without breaking the bank. The above facial is $1180 for 90 minutes.
My second visit was to have a much-needed haircut and colour. Although I’ve lived in Hong Kong for a long time, I’ve yet to find a hairdresser that really understands what I want so meeting Vikky Sheridan was so refreshing. She brings a wealth of experience from The Welsh Valleys in the UK, and her skills and ability saw her become a finalist at the UK’s hairdressing young talent of the year awards.
The salon at Glow is small and cosy, designed for only 2 clients at a time, which provides privacy and confidentiality during the hair consultation and throughout your appointment.
Vikky spent the time listening to how I wanted a change in colour which I feel is often rushed in other salons, and stayed with me through the entire process of colouring, hair wash and blow dry which is not common in Hong Kong, as usually you are passed around from the technician, to the hair wash and then back to a stylist for the blow dry. I was delighted with the service Vikky provided and will now remain a client of hers.
