The Hong Kong Observatory has predicted that humidity levels in the territory will be at 100% for most of this week, and that maximum temperatures will soar to 26 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The city’s meteorological body also predicts fog two days of the week — Tuesday and Thursday — before temperatures drop significantly early next week.
Temperatures will hover between 18 and 26 degrees for most of this week, with occasional periods of sunshine. The mercury will start to drop over the weekend, with temperatures ranging between 15 and 18 degrees next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures in the territory dropped just before Chinese New Year, and the observatory issued a cold weather warning on February 7, which remained in force until February 11, the second day of the Year of the Dragon. As of February 18, 2024, the mean temperature this month has been 18.8 degrees, with a mean low of 16.8 degrees and mean maximum of 21.4 degrees.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, the territory usually experiences fog — when visibility is reduced to less than 1 km by water droplets suspended in the air — between February and April every year.
