Visitors from Hong Kong to Macau can get free tickets for their ferry and shuttle bus trips on their return home, from January 13 till March 31, 2023. However, they must spend at least one night in Macau to be eligible for these tickets.

The buy-one-get-one-free offer is currently available on the Hong Kong-Macao Express bus, as well as the TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet ferry services. The Macao Government Tourism Office said that more service operators will join the scheme.

The news comes after Covid-imposed border-control measures between Hong Kong and Mainland China were lifted on January 8. While there is a daily limit of 60,000 people who can enter the Mainland, there are no restrictions on the number of passengers who can board the Hong-Kong Macau ferry and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) shuttle buses.

In addition, the boundary control points between the two special autonomous regions at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge are open for 24 hours.

Visitors from Hong Kong to Macau are also exempt from pre-departure Covid-19 testing requirements. They must now only observe a five-day health management period after they enter Macau, during which they will get a yellow health code and must take rapid antigen tests every day.
