For months, I have been flicking through magazines and reading over and over again about balayage hair, questioning whether it would suit me or not. Since Indulgence is well known for its balayage service, I decided to take a leap of faith.
Jim – who has worked at Indulgence for over a decade – explained that the balayage technique would create depth of contrast and colour tones to enhance my natural hair colour. Once we had agreed on a colour, I was ready to go!
While I was was nervous at the thought of having my hair bleached, Jim patiently answered all my questions, explaining each step of the process along the way. After bleaching and adding the toner, we were ready to see the colour, but not before adding some shape to the front of my hair and some layering in the back to give it volume and dimension.
Though I would normally leave my locks to dry in their natural curly form, I decided to have my hair blow dried and curled to see the effects of the balayage. Soft, chic and super shiny! I was extremely happy with the colour and immediately wondered why I hadn’t braved this before!

Massage
If you’re looking to unwind and treat yourself, there is no better way then a massage. In Hong Kong, we are truly spoilt for choice so I was eager to see what Indulgence had to offer. If you’re anything like me, a cosy, comfortable and clean treatment room rank high on the list and Indulgence ticks all the boxes.
Relaxing music? Tick! A delicate natural aroma that will have you effortlessly falling asleep? Tick! During my 90-minute aromatic massage, my therapist Ivy was gentle but firm enough to release the muscle tension within my neck and shoulders. This treatment was nothing short of indulgent and left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, with a spring in my step!
Nails
It always amazes me how the simple act of getting my nails done can make me feel healthier and happier. If you look good, you feel good…and ladies, Indulgence knows exactly how to take care of you. After choosing a colour from their extensive range, Nail Technician Connie carefully trimmed and filed my nails to the perfect shape. I was pleasantly surprised at the attention to detail and appreciated her taking the time to explain how I could take care of my dry cuticles. I left feeling happy with my super shiny and perfected soft-gel nails!
Facial
As we transition into the cooler temperatures, I have been failing to meet my daily water intake. The result? Super dry and dehydrated skin! After attentively studying my skin, Senior Beauty Therapist Carol, explained which facial would bring life to my dull skin.
The Source Marine Ritual (60 minutes) is one of THALGO’s signature treatments and aims to give your skin radiance and hydration. The four steps firstly include a welcoming massage and make up removal to allow you to fully relax. Next, the therapist applies a gentle technique with an anti-fatigue effect to activate your cell renewal followed by a signature massage, inspired from the movements of the sea to release tension and relax muscle features. I can quite confidently say that I fell asleep at this stage!
For those with sensitive skin, no need to worry! I was in disbelief as I looked back in the mirror and questioned how much difference a 60-minute facial could make. Verdict
This was my first time experiencing a one-stop beauty and hair shop like Indulgence and though at first, I wondered how the quality of each service would compare, I can quite confidently say that I will be back.
