Hongkongers can get unlimited free rides on all passenger trams on April 30 on the occasion of Cantopop star Keung To’s 25th birthday. The trips are being organised by the KeungShow HKFanClub for the third straight year to mark their idol’s special day. Other birthday festivities include Keung To birthday-themed spots in Causeway Bay and the Keung To Ocean Carnival 2024 at Ocean Park Hong Kong.
Keung To is a member of the 12-member band MIRROR, and has a massive fan base in Hong Kong, who call themselves ‘Ginger Candies’ since ‘Keung’ has the same pronunciation as ‘ginger’ in Cantonese. There have been five Keung To trams running across the city in the run-up to his birthday, Keung To billboards on Times Square and Causeway Place, and special photo spots at Windsor House and The One.
Ocean Park Hong Kong will also get in on the singer’s birthday celebrations, courtesy the Keung To Ocean Carnival 2024 on April 23. Some of the theme park’s iconic cable cars will have cartoon images of the singer, and its Old Hong Kong zone will have a Keung To theme for the day. Tickets for the day cost HK$888 and include a birthday celebration gift pack.
