Skate Asia, the biggest recreation skating competition in the world, will return to Hong Kong after a 22-year hiatus. This year’s edition will be held in Discovery Bay from August 7-15.

The event will be held at the Discovery Bay Ice Rink, where 1,750 skaters from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, the US, and other countries will compete in a variety of competitions, ranging from solo and ensemble contests, to hockey shooting and kaleidoskating.

The very first edition of Skate Asia was first held in Hong Kong in 1989, and returned to the SAR in 2001. It was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it returned in 2022, when it took place in Malaysia.
