The 13th Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong is returning to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14 to 17 May, bringing together 106 exhibitors, with an event built around the idea of lower-priced original works, with artworks listed from HK$1,000, aimed at attracting both first-time and experienced buyers.

This year’s programme includes five Special Projects presented as large-scale installations and interactive works across the venue. The projects include a central display of oversized ink-painted fans arranged as seascapes, designed as an entry feature, and an immersive installation using rain and mirrors that encourages visitors to photograph themselves as part of the work.

Another project draws on classical Eastern garden design to create walk-through “landscapes” that combine installation elements with two-dimensional pieces. A café area is curated around a themed body of work, turning part of the visitor route into an exhibition space rather than a separate food zone.

The fair is also adding a new photography section titled “Pieces of Hong Kong”, featuring six Hong Kong-based photographers and positioning photography as a collectible format alongside painting and sculpture.

Separate curated sections include a UK-focused programme presented with the British Consulate General Hong Kong, and a local showcase of emerging artists grouped under Young Talent Hong Kong.

Alongside the booths, the schedule includes hands-on workshops, including printmaking and ink-painting sessions, plus guided tours for children aged 5 to 14 with support in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.

Public opening hours are 15 May (12pm–8pm), 16 May (10am–7pm) and 17 May (10am–7pm), with an Opening Night on 14 May (4pm–9pm). Ticket prices listed are HK$175 for general admission, HK$150 for concessions, HK$165 for Family Morning sessions, and HK$340 for an Opening Night and 4-day pass.
