Plans for Dream One were presented at a conference on September 2, outlining a new high-end cruise concept for Hong Kong’s nearshore waters.
The vessel will measure 109 metres long, 26 metres wide and 9.8 metres deep, with a gross tonnage of about 18,580 tons.
Rather than operating only as a sightseeing ship, Dream One is planned as a mixed-use venue, bringing together leisure, dining, entertainment and space for different types of private and corporate events on Victoria Harbour.
On board, the cruise ship should feature bars, restaurants and entertainment facilities alongside spaces designed for business and social gatherings. Plans presented for the vessel include international conferences, business forums, brand events and themed banquets, giving the ship a role beyond regular harbour cruising.
Luxury weddings are also expected to be part of the concept, with the vessel designed to host large-scale occasions in a waterfront setting. The combination of hospitality and event facilities is intended to allow Dream One to operate as both a leisure destination and a venue for organised functions.
According to the developers, Bauhinia Culture Holdings, China Merchants Group and Dream Cultural Tourism Group, the main structure of Dream One has already been completed, with further work still needed before the vessel enters service. Its launch is scheduled around 2027, when Hong Kong marks the 30th anniversary of the Handover.
