Baumhaus – More Than a Playroom

You’ll find this oasis for families between Central and Wan Chai on Queens Road East, and as you walk in your eye is immediately drawn to the unique treehouse play area. Created from natural materials and designed to foster creative play, you can’t help but smile as you watch the happy toddlers and crawlers explore. Even tiny babies will happily watch from the sidelines. Meanwhile parents and carers chat or just take a minute to relax and look on.

Baumhaus founder Crisel told us the team hunted high and low for the perfect play equipment before deciding to import the treehouse from Germany. Parents and kids here absolutely adore the treehouse (one mum described it as a “genius idea”). It’s certainly unique in Hong Kong.

Better still you can grab a coffee or a snack whilst the kids play. One parent told us “we love the free play area and the cafe. It’s nice to be able to have a coffee and also keep an eye on my daughter at the same time”. It’s not just a playroom, it’s a space for a families to hangout, connect and develop friendships that can last a lifetime.

Growing and Learning With Kindermusik

The team encourage their Kindermusik students to enjoy the playroom before or after their classes, which explains why their little learners are so happy to be here! The ‘family’ atmosphere is striking, among visitors and staff alike. One parent described the atmosphere as “warm, welcoming, relaxed, easy-going” and several parents told us how excited their tiny tots are about their trips to Baumhaus.

Baumhaus is the home of Kindermusik with Crisel, a musical education program for children aged 0-7. For the past two years Kindermusik International has rated Kindermusik with Crisel as the #1 Kindermusik program in Hong Kong.

Crisel founded the program in 2014, and taught at a variety of venues around Hong Kong. She opened Baumhaus in 2015 with a vision of providing a settled, nurturing and creative ‘home’ for Kindermusik families and children. Many of the original Kindermusik with Crisel families have followed Crisel on her journey to Baumhaus. And now with the perfect learning space and a fantastic team of teachers they are ready to grow and welcome new students.

Passionate Teachers Make the Difference

Kindermusik with Crisel teachers love to share their passion for music with babies and children through fun and developmentally appropriate activities. They believe in nurturing genuine personal connections with students and families. We asked one mum ‘what’s the best thing about Baumhaus?’ and her answer sums up the Baumhaus philosophy perfectly: “Lovely teachers that really interact well with the children – I am always surprised that the teachers know and remember so much about our little ones… it really feels like we are all part of a big family.”

As time goes by and their little students are growing, so too is Baumhaus – Crisel and her experienced team are developing a unique drama program, Dramalab, for big kids (up to 8 years of age).

You can trust the teaching team here to nurture the unique spark of creativity and self confidence within your individual child, and they would love to welcome you into the Baumhaus family.
