The MTR Corporation will give passengers who use its train, light rail, and bus services this weekend 50% off their fares. Anyone who uses these modes of transport on May 13 and 14 will pay half the regular ticket prices on each of their trips as part of the rail corporation’s Thank You Days initiative.

Travellers who use Octopus cards on the MTR, Light Rail and MTR Bus, or QR codes on the MTR heavy rail network are eligible for the discounted fares, which also apply to trips to Lo Wo and Lok Ma Chau stations. Passengers can also avail the half fares along with any interchange, Fare Saver, and the 25% discount on
connecting journeys with the Monthly Pass.

This weekend, there will be 660 additional trips added to eight MTR lines – the Island Line, South Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, Tuen Ma Line, East Rail Line, Tung Chung, and Disneyland Resort Line. There will also be more coupled-set light rail vehicles in anticipation of higher passenger traffic on these days.

HK Tramways is also organising free tram rides on all its Hong Kong Island routes on May 14 on the occasion of International Day of Families, which falls on May 15.
