Tourists from Hong Kong who travel to Taiwan can apply for free 4G SIM cards that they can use for five days of their travel within the island nation. The offer, which is open to Macau residents as well, is on till September 30.

Applicants must apply for their vouchers in Hong Kong, which they can use to redeem the SIM card once they arrive in Taiwan. They need to visit the Taiwan Visitors Association Hong Kong Office in Tsim Sha Tsui with proof of having purchased round-trip tickets to Taiwan, proof of accommodation during their stay, and a valid travel document.

The offer does not apply to visitors staying with friends or relatives, or at an AirbNb. Applicants should note that the name on their tickets should match their travel document.

Travellers must then return to the Hong Kong office to collect their vouchers. Once in Taiwan, they can use them to redeem the SIM cards at Taoyuan Airport, Songshan Airport, Taichung Airport, Kaohsiung Airport, and designated CHT counters.

Earlier this year, the Taiwan government announced that tourists could win NT5,000 (HK$1,250) worth of consumption vouchers in a lucky draw campaign, which will end on June 30, 2025.
