Hong Kong has no shortage of gyms and fitness studios to keep any fitness enthusiast entertained. With an explosion of boutique centres in the past 12 months we asked fitness expert and business coach Elle Kealy for her for round up of the best places to get your sweat on.
Flex
The Pilates-lovers premier place to be seen, Flex hosts an impressive array of classes to suit all levels and interests. The classes here range from Pilates mat and reformer, to yoga, TRX, Xtend Barre, Zumba and pre and post natal classes. The vibe in this studio is light, airy and relaxed and it’s a firm favourite with the yummy mummy crowd in the week and a mixed crowd on the weekends. Be sure to book ahead as classes are justifiably popular.

H-Kore
No longer a new kid on the block, the Lagree method studio is still a firm favourite with the lululemon loving crowd. Celeb fans of this powerful workout include Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman and Vanessa Hudgens.
The 45 minute workout takes place on a machine called a Megaformer (which sounds scary but is easily mastered) and promises to work over 600 muscles. Workouts are fast paced with difficulty levels adjustable depending on your ability.

XYZ
Now with their second location open in Causeway Bay the XYZ revolution is picking up the pace. Take your spin class up a notch at this very chic indoor cycling centre. Classes take place in a darkened ‘cave’ complete with UV lighting, a pumping sound system and a playlist that rivals the hottest nightclub. 50 minute sessions combining cardio and upper body weights (yes, whilst peddling) make this a really fun workout.

The Yoga Room
One of the original yoga centres in Sheung Wan, this Hong Kong institution has now got four floors of the same building hosting everything from hot yoga to teacher training. It’s a cosy boutique venue with high quality instructors. Classes get popular so make reservations.

BounceLimit
BounceLimit is Hong Kong’s first low impact, high intensity mini-trampoline work out class. You can burn up to 1000 calories per hour in one of these fun, high energy workouts.
