Looking for a nightlife experience in Hong Kong with a dash of theatre? Maggie Choo’s, one of Hong Kong’s most buzzing nightlife spots, is turning up the glamour with its headline cabaret show, the first of its kind in the city. The show debuts on Thursdays from 9pm-11pm and will run for six weeks, with additional performances rolling out in March. There will be a VIP preview on February 13, and regular shows will begin on February 20. Featuring an international cast of dancers from Australia, Italy, and France, alongside live vocals and a captivating band, this cabaret at venue in Central promises an immersive and unforgettable experience.
Spectacle of Music, Dance, and Glamour
Choreographed by award-winning Federica Gargano, the show is a two-act extravaganza blending jazz, ballet, and classic cabaret performances. Guests will be drawn into a world of elegance from the moment the first number, Maggie Choo’s Song, opens with its swing-infused energy. Throughout the night, the audience will be treated to visually stunning acts, including a Vietnamese-inspired performance, a playful take on Big Spender, and a bold finale with Bang Bang, featuring feathers, pearls, and old-world cabaret glamour.
The dancers will move through the crowd, engaging guests and making each performance an intimate and interactive experience. The routines are brought to life with iconic elements like top hats, exquisite tailor-made costumes, and theatrical storytelling. With a fresh theme introduced every three months, regular visitors will always have something new to look forward to. Besides the cabaret, live jazz kicks off nightly at 8pm, and resident and guest DJs keep the energy going into the early hours.
Theatrical Backdrop for an Immersive Experience
Maggie Choo’s is the creative vision of the award-winning architect Ashley Sutton who conceived unique settings in popular Hong Kong night spots like Iron Fairies, The Mixing Room, and Dragonfly. The feature wall done up with ornate colonial-style plaster moulding and a vintage clock installation, the iron spiral staircases that go up to an attic space, and vintage bank teller counter-turned-cocktail bar space will provide the perfect backdrop for the performances.
The nightlife destination has also crafted three cocktails influenced by the artistry of cabaret. Priced at HK$158 each, the menu features the Daiquiri-inspired Her Aspirations, the black tea-and-butterfly gin drink Remains of Mystery, and Maggie’s Martini — a twist on the classic Martinez with subtle Asian influences.
