M+ at Night: Good Times — September 5
M+ at Night returns on 13 September with Good Times, an evening of music, art, and wellness. Wander the galleries after hours, enjoy live performances by Hong Kong-based talents Jay Fung and Room307, and join hands-on yoga and clay workshops. Inspired by the M+ Sigg Collection: Inner Worlds, this edition offers a creative take on self-care, blending art and relaxation in a vibrant, after-dark museum setting.

Kadoorie Earth Programme ’Soil, Seed & Community’ Workshop Series 2025 —September 6, 13, and 20
This September, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden hosts the Soil, Seed & Community workshop series, inviting participants to explore the ecological and cultural significance of soil and seeds. Through talks, hands-on activities, and community visits, you’ll learn about regenerative agriculture, native seed conservation, and creative ways to connect with nature. Yu Lan Cultural Festival 2025 (Hungry Ghost Festival) — September 7, 12-14
This year, the Yu Lan Cultural Festival celebrates the Chiu Chow community’s Hungry Ghost Festival traditions with a modern twist. Enjoy immersive theatre: Come Home to Depart, and Yu Lan: A New Chapter – Claws for cards, cultural exhibitions, and competitions, plus hands-on workshops in paper crafting, Kung Fu tea, and calligraphy. You can explore the festival’s cultural significance through guided tours in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin. An exclusive guided tour for tourists takes place on September 7, offering an open-top bus journey through Kowloon City’s Yu Lan heritage.

CR7 LIFE Museum Hong Kong — July 7-September 30
Opening July 7, Asia’s first CR7 LIFE Museum will arrive at K11 MUSEA. Celebrating football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the 12,000 square feet exhibition pay tribute to his extraordinary careers, with major trophies, rare memorabilia, and interactive displays like a UR CR7 YouTube studio replica. While we are waiting for the confirmation of the celebrity guest list at the grand opening, you can now buy tickets and get merchandise perks. Celebrate 50 years of My Melody and Little Twin Stars this summer as Harbour City teams up with Sanrio for a spectacular “My Melody・Kiki & Lala 50th Anniversary Celebration — Summer Matsuri @ Harbour City”. Explore the future of discovery at Endless Exploration: The Journey of Chinese Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation. Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2025 — September 9-14
Catch world-class badminton at the Li-Ning Hong Kong Open, taking place September 9–14 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. This HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament brings together 336 players from over 20 countries, including Olympic gold medallists Viktor Axelsen and Chen Yu Fei. All free admission tickets for the qualifying rounds and first round of the Men’s and Women’s Doubles on 9 September have been fully distributed, but tickets for other sessions are still available for purchase.

Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival — September 25-October 19
Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong with the Lantern Carnival. From September 25 to October 19, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in TST will host stunning lantern displays, while Victoria Park comes alive from September 30 to October 7 with cultural performances, traditional crafts, and lantern-making workshops. Marking the harvest and the year’s fullest moon, this centuries-old festival is one of the most cherished traditions of the Chinese society.

The Tea House Theatre at the Xiqu Centre welcomes two unforgettable nights of jazz direct from New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center. On September 30, Grammy-winning singer Nicole Zuraitis delivers soulful ballads and reimagined classics. Then, October 29–30, legendary trumpeter Jon Faddis light up the stage. National Day Fireworks Display — October 1
On October 1, the Victoria Harbour lights up for the National Day Fireworks Display, celebrating the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The day begins with the Flag Raising Ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square, followed by lively horse races at Sha Tin Racecourse. For 23 dazzling minutes, head to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Central Harbourfront, and Golden Bauhinia Square for one of the city’s biggest annual spectacles; arrive early for the best views and to soak up the atmosphere!

Waterbomb Hong Kong 2025 — October 4-5
WATERBOMB HONG KONG makes its splashy return on 4–5 October at the Central Harbourfront Event Space. This two-day water music festival blends top-tier K-pop and hip-hop performances with massive water fights. Pick your side: the fierce Pink Team or the powerful Purple Team, and dive into the ultimate party under the Hong Kong skyline. Past performers include Jay Park, Jessi, Rain, and Yugyeom, with this year’s lineup to be revealed soon.

Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance — October 5-7
Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance returns from 5 to 7 October, lighting up the streets in Tai Hang. This 67-metre incense-stuffed dragon, carried by 300 performers, creates a mesmerising trail of fire and smoke as it winds through the streets. Listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, this century-old Mid-Autumn Festival custom also includes a children’s dragon, adding to its festive and community spirit.
