M+ at Night: Poetic Pulse — June 5

M+ at Night: Poetic Pulse transforms the museum into a nocturnal party where poetry, dance and music intersect, inspired by the new Dial‑A‑Poem Hong Kong exhibition and poet John Giorno’s Dial‑A‑Poem concept. Paradis Latin: Mon Premier Cabaret — June 6–7

Budweiser FIFA World Cup 40‑Year Celebration Carnival — June 9–16

Budweiser celebrates 40 years as the Official Beer of the FIFA World Cup with a pop‑up carnival on the Avenue of Stars, inviting fans to soak up the World Cup spirit ahead of the 2026 finals. The event features gigantic photo spots, speed and football‑skill challenges to win limited‑edition merchandise, and tastings of Budweiser’s crisp American‑style lager. FIFA World Cup — June 11-July 19

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States, with 48 teams competing in the expanded tournament. It is the first men’s World Cup to be staged across three countries, and the competition will run from 11 June to 19 July. In Hong Kong, fans can watch all 104 matches live on Now TV in 4K, while selected free-to-air matches will be shown on ViuTV. For a more social atmosphere, sports bars and pubs across Hong Kong will also screen major games.

A State of Trance — June 12

A State of Trance is coming to Hong Kong to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special one-night event at AsiaWorld-Expo. Led by Armin van Buuren, this marks the first time the global dance music brand brings its anniversary edition to East Asia. While they’re yet to announce the line-up, fans can expect one of the biggest electronic music experiences of the year filled with trance and progressive sounds!

Illuminations at The Peak — June 13-June 6, 2027

HSBC Life Illuminations at The Peak debuts as Hong Kong’s highest light-and-sound spectacle, transforming The Peak into an immersive evening experience. Inspired by Hong Kong’s heritage and city landmarks, the show combines festive visuals, dazzling projections and music, with The Peak Tower reimagined as the character Peakie alongside HSBC’s iconic lions Stephen and Stitt. Visitors can catch the free nightly show at Peak Road Garden outside The Peak Tower, where each session runs for around 10 minutes and begins every hour from 7pm to 9pm.

PMQ Play Stuff Fest 2026 — June 19-21

PMQ Play Stuff Fest 2026 runs from 19 to 21 June at PMQ’s Courtyard and Marketplace on G/F, with selected programmes in designated venues. The event is presented as “TOY GUYS,” featuring over 40 toy brands, exclusive collectibles, sharing sessions, and hands-on workshops for toy lovers and kidults.

Dragon Boat Festival — June 19

The Dragon Boat Festival, or Tuen Ng, falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month to ward off evil spirits and negative energy. On June 19, a public holiday in Hong Kong, major dragon boat races will be held in Stanley, Tai O, and Aberdeen, while locals indulge in zongzi, delicious glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves.

Hong Kong Lotus Festival — June 20–July 2

The Hong Kong Lotus Festival returns to Po Lin Monastery, showcasing thousands of lotuses and water lilies across hundreds of varieties. Chinese Culture Festival 2026 — June-September

Chinese Culture Festival 2026 runs from June to September across Hong Kong, with 55 events. The programme explores Chinese legends, with Sui–Tang culture and Luoyang in focus. Highlights include Lady White Snake, Zhong Kui the Ghosteater, Harmony in Eternal Melody and Acrobatic Spectacle of Ancient Tang. CR7 LIFE Museum Hong Kong — Until June 7

Opening July 7, Asia’s first CR7 LIFE Museum will arrive at K11 MUSEA. Celebrating football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the 12,000 square feet exhibition pay tribute to his extraordinary careers, with major trophies, rare memorabilia, and interactive displays like a UR CR7 YouTube studio replica. While we are waiting for the confirmation of the celebrity guest list at the grand opening, you can now buy tickets and get merchandise perks. Padel Central — Until June 24

UBS Presents Padel Central returns to Central Harbourfront, bringing padel courts, live DJs, food, drinks and post-match hangouts to AIA Vitality Park. Now in its 33rd edition, French May Arts Festival 2026 unfolds under the theme Re/naissance, suggesting a fresh dawn for culture in Hong Kong. The programme brings together major highlights such as the DJ Snake live show on the Central harbourfront, the immersive exhibition Meet Mona Lisa & Portraying the Renaissance at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the aerial‑circus spectacle VOÛTE at Tai Kwun, and French GourMay, a series of food and wine experiences celebrating French gastronomy.

Blooming: The Art of Gardens in East and West — Until July 29

The exhibition Blooming: The Art of Gardens in East and West opens on 24 April at the Hong Kong Museum of Art and continues until 29 July. The free exhibition features 106 paintings and artefacts from the Palace Museum in Beijing, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Palace of Versailles, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art, including two masterpieces by Claude Monet – Water Lilies (1906) and Water Lily Pond (1900).
The display examines garden culture in both Chinese and Western traditions, including grand imperial gardens of Emperor Qianlong and King Louis XIV, as well as artistic representations by masters such as Zhang Daqian and Wen Zhengming.

James Turrell: Lifting the Veil — Until August 1

American artist James Turrell, renowned for his groundbreaking work with light and perception, brings ‘Lifting the Veil’ exhibition to Gagosian Hong Kong art gallery.

Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now — Until August 9

Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now offers a focused look at one of Asia’s most influential contemporary artists, bringing together significant sculptures, installations, and works on paper from across her career. At M+, the exhibition unfolds in three parts: an open landscape of architectural forms from Mon grand récit, a section devoted to the gender‑conscious Cyborg and Anagram series, and an intimate studio‑style arrangement of sketches and models. The show invites visitors to explore how Lee Bul interrogates modernist utopias, technology, and the body while on view in the West Gallery, L2, until 9 August 2026.

Dial-A-Poem Hong Kong — Until August 30

Initiated by American poet John Giorno in 1969, Dial-A-Poem arrives at M+ to bring the spoken word into everyday life. This immersive installation features a series of telephone sculptures in the Focus Gallery, allowing visitors to listen to randomly selected readings by thirty local poets and musicians in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
For the occasion, Hongkongers can also call +852 3009-9386 to hear the same newly recorded poems remotely, presented in their original languages by the participating local poets and musicians. The works highlight the sounds and rhythms of Hong Kong’s landscape, inviting audiences to experience poetry as it was intended: to be heard, not merely read.

The Olivier Award‑winning rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR arrives in Hong Kong this July, bringing the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 8 July to 1 August.
With music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the show reimagines the final weeks in Jesus’s life through a bold fusion of rock, opera, and soul, featuring classics such as I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane, and Superstar. Led by director Timothy Sheader and choreographer Drew McOnie, it promises a visually striking and emotionally powerful theatrical experience.

LKF World Cup Street Party — July 18–19

Lan Kwai Fong closes out the FIFA World Cup season with a grand finale street party in Central, turning the district into an open-air celebration on 18 and 19 July. Expect giant screens, live music, street games, cold drinks and a packed crowd following every kick, save and goal. As part of the wider Now TV @ Lan Kwai Fong FIFA World Cup Mania, it offers one of Hong Kong’s most energetic places to watch the tournament.

Hong Kong Football Festival 2026 — July 31-August 5
The Hong Kong Football Festival 2026 brings a blockbuster summer of football to Kai Tak Stadium, with four European giants — Manchester City, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Juventus — headlining two exhibition matches. Alongside the matches, fans can also watch open training sessions before the games, making this a rare chance to see world-class teams up close in Hong Kong.

Audi Football Summit 2026 — August 7

FC Bayern Munich will face Aston Villa at Kai Tak Stadium this summer as Audi Football Summit 2026 comes to Hong Kong. The one-off pre-season match marks Bayern’s first return to the city in 20 years and the first time the two clubs will meet here. Staged at Kai Tak Sports Park, the fixture will give local fans a chance to watch top European football at the city’s new flagship venue.
