This is the second distribution drive the airline has undertaken for Hong Kong residents. Last month, it gave Hongkongers 6,800 tickets to Osaka, Chongqing, Bali, Sapporo, and Shanghai Hongqiao.

Hong Kong Airlines previously announced that it would give away more than 25,000 tickets to residents of the SAR to more than 20 destinations across six countries in Asia from July 24-August 25.

SAR residents can win tickets to cities in Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Mainland China, Thailand, and Vietnam over three rounds of giveaways. The airline will announce the details of its final round of the distribution drive at a later date.

Hong Kong Airlines is the second SAR-based carrier to participate in the 80,000 free ticket giveaway campaign for passengers from the city.

Earlier this month, budget carrier HK Express gave away 21,626 tickets from Hong Kong to 19 cities in five Asian countries, also on a first-come-first-served basis.
