Hong Kong Airlines will start its giveaway of free economy round-trip tickets for Hong Kong residents on July 24 on a first-come-first-served basis, as part of the government’s Hello Hong Kong campaign.
The airline will start the first round of its distribution drive by giving away 6,800 tickets to Osaka, Chongqing, Bali, Sapporo, and Shanghai Hongqiao from 10am onwards on July 24, as part of its Click & Go initiative.
How to win the tickets
Visit the airline’s campaign page at 10am on July 24, choose your destination, and book your ticket. If your preferred travel dates are unavailable, try other dates.
Once you successfully book your ticket, take a screenshot of your itinerary and record your electronic ticket number for future reference. This last day of this giveaway round is July 28.
Passengers must be at least 12 years old to avail these tickets.
How many tickets are available?
There are quotas for tickets to each destination and specific travel dates for each city:
ROUTE | QUOTA |
Hong Kong-Osaka | 2,200 |
Hong Kong-Chongqing | 2,000 |
Hong Kong-Bali | 1,200 |
Hong Kong-Sapporo | 1,100 |
Hong Kong-Shanghai Hongqiao | 300 |
How long are the tickets valid for?
Tickets can be used to book trips that are between two days and seven days long, for travel dates between September 1, 2023 and March 24, 2023. There are blackout dates for each city during which passengers cannot use these tickets.
Travellers do not have to pay airfare on their tickets, but they must bear the costs of applicable taxes, surcharges, and fees on them.
Hong Kong Airlines previously announced that it would give away more than 25,000 tickets to residents of the SAR to more than 20 destinations across six countries in Asia from July 24-August 25.
Hongkongers can win tickets to cities in Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Mainland China, Thailand, and Vietnam over three rounds of giveaways.
The airline will announce the details of the next two rounds of its distribution drive at a later date.
Hong Kong Airlines is the second SAR-based carrier to participate in the 80,000 free ticket giveaway campaign for passengers from the city.
Earlier this month, budget carrier HK Express gave away 21,626 tickets from Hong Kong to 19 cities in five Asian countries, also on a first-come-first-served basis.
