Cathay Pacific is extending its 80th anniversary celebrations beyond the skies by bringing its heritage branding onto Hong Kong’s streets. As part of the campaign, four Hong Kong tramways have been transformed into retro aircraft-inspired liveries, reflecting different eras of the airline’s visual identity.

The themed trams, numbered 173, 174, 11 and 3, are now operating across Hong Kong Island, drawing attention from commuters and aviation fans alike.

The tram rollout follows a series of anniversary announcements made earlier this month. Cathay has already confirmed classic livery flights, including the return of the iconic “lettuce leaf sandwich” aircraft design, alongside the reintroduction of vintage cabin crew and ground staff uniforms. These heritage elements aim to highlight the airline’s long history while celebrating its evolution over the past eight decades.

Together, the retro trams, heritage flights and anniversary merchandise form part of Cathay’s wider year-long celebration marking 80 years of operations in Hong Kong and beyond.
