Cathay Pacific will begin its ticket giveaway for travellers from Australia and New Zealand on May 29. The airline will give away a total of 6,480 economy round-trip tickets to passengers from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Auckland on a first-come-first-served basis until June 4 as part of the Hello Hong Kong campaign to welcome tourists back to the SAR. There are 6,020 tickets for Australia travellers and 460 tickets for passengers from New Zealand up for grabs.

How to get the tickets?

To qualify for the tickets, passengers aged at least 18 years old should first register as Cathay Pacific Asia Miles members before May 29. Participants must then visit the campaign pages for Australia at 12pm AEST, and New Zealand at 6pm NZST on May 29, which is when the tickets will become available. Successful participants do not have to pay the airfare on their tickets, but they must bear the costs of any applicable taxes, fees, and surcharges.

How long are the tickets valid for?

Customers must book their tickets before sales close on June 4 or until tickets are sold out, for travel dates between May 29, 2023 and February 28, 2024. The purchased tickets can only be used for a stay period that lasts between two days and one month.

Several giveaway campaigns for free or discounted tickets for travellers to Hong Kong from different countries began from March 1, courtesy the Hello Hong Kong and World of Winners initiatives. Tickets to travellers from Southeast AsiaMainland China, the UKEurope, South Korea, and the US and Canada have already been awarded. The tickets for tourists from Dubai, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal will be available from May 22. Cathay Pacific is also expected to announce gifted tickets from South Africa and Japan in June.
