The 2025 edition of the Chinese New Year Night Parade will make a comeback to the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui on January 29, 2025, to mark the start of the Year of the Snake. Spectators will get to check out themed floats and performances by local, Mainland, and international acts. The celebrations, which will follow the theme ‘Unfold a Year of Good Fortune’, will begin with a pre-parade party at 6pm, and the main event will take place from 8pm-9:45pm.

What is the route for the parade?

The route for the parade will start at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, then go through Canton Road, Haiphong Road, and Nathan Road, and will end at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers at 9.45pm. The first float and parade group will get to Canton Road at around 8:30pm and Nathan Road at about 9pm. The last float will arrive at the endpoint at around 10:30pm.

What can I see at the parade?

The highlights of the parade will be the floats typically created by iconic Hong Kong institutions. This year, there will be nine floats, including one from Cathay Pacific, the main sponsor of the event, as well as one from Hong Kong Disneyland that will have Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Duffy, LinaBell and God of Fortune Goofy Riding on red and gold festive patterns with lucky plum blossoms and four-leaf clovers. The LINE FRIENDS float will bring out its futuristic-themed float, while Ocean Park and the city’s tourism agencies will have a panda-themed display in honour of Hong Kong’s panda family.

The parade and pre-parade performers will be from 14 countries and regions, including Hong Kong and Night Parade first-timers France, Argentina, Austria, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. There will be a total of 16 performing groups from Mainland and overseas, which include the winner of 2020 America’s Got Talent: The Champions, V.UNBEATABLE DANCE GROUP from India, Austrian acrobatic show group and the runner-up of 2018 America’s Got Talent Zurcaroh, and Indonesian dance crew BRAVERY DANCERS. Groups from Mainland include the Shaanxi Performing Arts Troupe, who featured in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 14th National Games of China.

Where can I get tickets for the parade?

While there are free viewing spots along Canton Road, Haiphong Road, and Nathan Road, spectators can also buy tickets priced between HK$300 and HK$480 per person to get a ringside view of the festivities at specific zones, such as the main stage at the Cultural Centre’s piazza, outside Lippo Sun Plaza, and at the Middle Road Junction on Nathan Road. Tickets go on sale from 8am on January 11 at the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s Kowloon Visitor Centre at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier.

If you miss the parade or want to relive the magic of this annual extravaganza, head to the Lam Tsuen Wishing Square in Tai Po, where the floats from the event will be on display from January 30-February 13. In addition, there will be performances by Mainland Chinese and global acts on January 30 and 31.
