Hong Kong has once again placed near the top of the global wealth rankings, with average wealth per adult reaching around HK$5.08 million (US$648,267) in 2025.
According to Global Wealth Report 2026 released by UBS on June 30, this puts the city fourth among 56 major markets worldwide, behind Switzerland, the United States and Luxembourg.
Hong Kong also ranked sixth for median wealth, at about HK$1.47 million (US$187,968). The figures reflect the city’s continued strength as a major financial centre, even as wealth levels remain shaped by property prices, financial assets and wider market performance.

The report also found that Hong Kong added 1,891 US-dollar millionaires in 2025, bringing the city’s total to around 628,000. That means roughly one in ten residents now holds at least US$1 million in wealth, placing Hong Kong among the markets with the highest millionaire density globally.
UBS said global personal wealth grew at its fastest pace since 2017 last year, with nearly one million new millionaires created worldwide.
Asia-Pacific also continued to play a major role in global wealth creation, with the region accounting for around one-third of total personal wealth.
