The offer from the e-service payment provider will run from January 27-February 28, 2025. Card-holders can also avail perks worth HK$60 million from Octopus’s merchant partners during the month-long campaign.

Octopus users must play the mini-game at specific times every day to get virtual red packets valued at HK$2, HK$6, HK$8, or HK$88 and e-vouchers from 26 fast-food chains, supermarkets, and other merchant partners involved in the promotion. The virtual red packets are available from 7am-11:59pm every day during the month-long offer period, with quotas for three time slots starting at 7am, 11am, and 6pm.

How many red packets can I get?

Each Octopus app user can only get one lai see every day, regardless of how many times they play the game. It’s also possible for mini-gamer players to get a total of 33 red packets if they manage to win the game once during each day of the promotion. The number of lai sees available varies depending on the time slot and the value of each packet. For instance, there are 20,000 red packets worth HK$2 up for grabs from 11am onwards, but only half that number for participants who play the game from 7am.
