Want to get in on Hong Kong’s obsession with pandas? Then keep your eyes peeled for special mailboxes across the city dedicated to these adorable bears. To commemorate the public debut of the first pandas born in Hong Kong, 49 special mailboxes will pop up across the city. The postboxes will be topped with cute 3D replicas of the twin cubs, which Hong Kong residents and visitors to the territory can see in various spots on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories. If you’re heading to the MTR keep an eye out for panda-centric decorations and special themed trains.

Where to Find the Panda Mailboxes

The first five boxes will be unveiled at the shopping hotspot of Causeway Bay and the laidback Southern District, and the rest will be revealed between February and early March. They’re easy to spot — just keep an eye out for two 3D pandas atop specially decorated postboxes, one of which is holding a camera and the other clutching a soft-serve ice cream. The boxes also depict famous landmarks and events specific to Hong Kong, such as its iconic skyline and dragon boat racing.

And if you’re lucky, you may even board a panda-themed train! You’ll also be surrounded by panda displays at Hong Kong International Airport, the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier, bus stops all over the city, and the Hong Kong Tourism Board Kowloon Visitor Information Centre.
