International fast food chain McDonald’s is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Hong Kong with a series of special activities that will last until February 5, 2025. The highlights of the festivities include a McDonald’s-themed Star Ferry and the display of 50 iconic Ronald McDonald’s benches across key locations in the city, such as The Peak, Harbour City, Stanley, and the Science Park.

The special Star Ferry is decked out in imagery associated with McDonald’s such as the Hamburglar, Grimace and Birdie. Passengers onboard the vessel will get to see an old-school Ronald McDonald bench and a vintage photograph of a massive Big Mac sailing across Victoria Harbour on a sampan in 1976 to commemorate the opening of the first McDonald’s in Kowloon.

Mickey D’s fans who want to explore Hong Kong can also win the chance to get a year’s supply of free Big Macs by finding all 50 Ronald McDonald’s benches across the city. All they need to do is scan a QR code at each bench, which corresponds to a unique stamp. The first 50 people to collect all 50 stamps will get a free Big Mac every day for the next year. Here are the 50 locations in Hong Kong where you can spot the benches in Hong Kong:

McDonald’s Hong Kong began its 50th birthday celebrations last week with a kick-off ceremony at Harbour City’s Ocean Terminal Deck with a performance that had dancers kitted out in classic McDonald’s Hong Kong uniforms from different eras. The event also saw the unveiling of a series of 50th anniversary surprises, including the appearance of rap duo SoftHard’s Jan Lamb and Eric Kot who have starred in commercials for the landmark festivities. The fast food chain also has daily discounts on fan-favourite items on its Hong Kong menu until January 8, 2025.
