Hong Kong illustrator and mural artist Messy Desk’s work has been featured as a video on one of New York’s iconic Times Square LED displays at Nasdaq MarketSite. The illustrator highlighted several of Hong Kong’s cultural icons, such as its public transport, food, and landmarks to celebrate Hang Seng Bank’s 90th anniversary.

The artwork shows the SAR’s cityscape in front of Victoria Harbour, along with a Star Ferry and a junk boat. It also depicts the city’s skyscrapers on Hong Kong Island in various shades of green – the theme of the bank’s anniversary celebrations – in Messy Desk’s trademark style of high-density landscapes peppered with details that each tell a unique story.

Messy Desk has also worked on other celebratory campaigns for Hang Seng Bank. She created a special design for 90 of Hong Kong’s red taxis, which gave passengers free rides on the occasion of the bank’s anniversary on April 4.

Messy Desk, born Jane Lee, is the winner of several international awards, including the 1st-Runner up JIA Illustration Awards from Japan Illustrator’s Association in 2016 and The Best Illustration (Advertising) at the 4th Greater China Illustration Awards 2016.
